The intertwining of dynamic forces on earth as well as that of the earth’s changing forms has always fascinated scientists and artists. The possibilities of photography with computers are increasing. Thanks to new information technologies and the web, the vision of the Earth and the landscape has changed. Since the early 2000s, search engines such as Google Earth have favored new perspectives of and on the Earth, as well as new artistic expressions relating to art and photography in particular. The union between art, science and technology thus becomes more and more evident and essential. The satellite view allows us to better grasp the jagged and chaotic nature of the earth, which shows a variegated and enchanting shapeless and abstract morphology from Space and, very often, as the photographs of Serradifalco show us, also iconic. Thanks to the use of satellites, the Earth has additional visibility possibilities that go beyond the boundary between what was previously only imaginable or unattainable while today it is concretely possible thanks to new scientific discoveries and the latest technological inventions. The face of the Earth has expanded. Observed from Space by modern artificial eyes, the globe opens up to new visions. Art could only assimilate these visual opportunities. And it does so by giving us back technological visions mediated by human eyes, of an artist.
